This Fourth of July, Take a Vacation Close to Home

The summer family vacation is an American tradition and one of which childhood memories are made: ordering room service, jumping on the bed, swimming in the hotel pool.

This summer, 58 percent of families will change the way they vacation because of the economy.

In a city with the world’s most-accessible airport and a network of interstate highways to take us anywhere in the country, our first instinct is to hop on a plane or pack the car.

We overlook the variety of things to see and do in our own city.
